Panels made in metal case with bench support and the electrical scheme on the front panel. The board shall allow the experimental study of the basic techniques of the generation of single sideband modulated signals, of their handling and of the reconstruction of their information content. The board shall include all the items required for basic exercises to be performed, allowing the student to develop a clear and efficient experimental idea of the meaning and the basic principles of SSB modulation and the relevant demodulator.The board shall include a carrier generator with rated frequency of 470 kHz, whose amplitude will be variable through a control accessible on the front panel. Besides the carrier generators, the board shall include a fixed frequency sine wave generator in voice band, with variable amplitude. An additional signal generator, again of rated frequency 470 kHz, shall have fixed amplitude and adjustable frequency. It shall be used as demodulation generator. Besides the above-mentioned auxiliary circuits, the board shall include a modulator that, starting from the signals from the carrier and voice generators, outputs a double side band signal without carrier. Besides this block, on the board a second unit shall be available, connectable to the former, comprising a pre-tuned SSB filter for extracting the DSB signal from either of the available side bands.A further functional block shall be the demodulator, that can be used either for the double sideband signal or for the single side band signal. The demodulated signal can be then processed in the last block on the board, the low-pass filter, at which output the reconstructed voice signal shall be available. The board shall supply by a stabilized source at +15 V and -15 V about ground. The consumption shall not exceed 300 mA for either source in the worst case. Technical features The board shall include: the DSB modulator, the SSB filter, the additive DSB-SSB demodulator, the low-pass filter, a constant frequency generator and a variable frequency generator for the carrier and a testing tone generator. Carrier rated frequency: 470 kHz. Power supply: ± 15 Vdc, 300 mA With this module it must be possible to perform the following exercises: Study of DSB modulator Study of SSB filter Study of demodulator Low-pass filter
