The Driven-wheel has 3 slots at 120 deg throughout the diameter of the wheel and the driver-wheel has 3 crank-pins attached to it at 60 deg to each other.

The diameter of the circle covered by the 3 pins is exactly half of the diameter of the driven-wheel.
