This kit is designed to study the basic VI (Voltage-Current) characteristics of TRIAC and DIAC components. The setup includes the following features:

  • TRIAC: One BTA12 TRIAC mounted with a heat sink for effective thermal management.

  • Gate Voltage Supply: LM723-based regulated 20V DC power supply for controlling the gate voltage.

  • Gate Current Control: One potentiometer provided to vary the gate current as required.

  • Main Voltage Supply: 0–50V DC variable power supply for adjusting voltage across the main terminals.

  • Voltage Control: One potentiometer provided to vary the voltage between MT1 and MT2.

  • Load Resistor: One high-wattage fixed load resistor for testing purposes.

  • Gate Control Switch: A toggle switch to turn the gate voltage ON or OFF.

  • Measurement Tools: Two DC ammeters/voltmeters or multimeters included for monitoring the device parameters accurately.

  • Power Supply: Operates on a 230V AC input with a power ON/OFF switch and indicator.
