SPECIFICATION

Description:

Checks relays by connecting car battery to relay coil, quickly testing the general health and functioning of the most common automotive relays. Quickly and accurately tests 4 styles of electro-mechanical relays on most modern cars, suitable for coil resistance above 20 - 50 OHMS. Suitable for various applications including relay coil resistance, relay contacts, and cyclic testing (not suitable for later Ford 4-pin relay).

Uses 12V power from the vehicle battery (the car battery must be 12V) and the voltage of the battery is between 11V-15V

A green LED will show if the relay is functioning properly and red if the relay is faulty.

Specification:

  • Material: ABS
  • Color: Random color delivery
  • Size: Approx.130x70x30mm/ 5.12x2.76x1.18 inch

How to use:

  1. Connect to the car battery by placing a black clip on the negative terminal and a red clip on the positive. When the LED lights the unit is powered up.
  2. Plug the relay 4,5-pin socket, depending on the type of relay being tested.
  3. Press the test button.
  4. The tester will check the relay and display either red for faulty or green if the relay is functioning correctly.
  5. The tester will open and close the relay 10 times to check contact closure time, if this takes too long a red LED will appear.
  6. The tester will then check the consistency of a relay, a green LED indicates a pass, and a red indicates a fail.
  7. Disconnect from the car battery and remove the relay from a tester.
