SPECIFICATION

To compare the linear expansion of rods of different materials. The apparatus implies a steam jacket with inlet and outlet tubes and an opening with rubber cork for a thermometer. One end of the test rod put against an adjusting screw and another end is free to expand against a micrometer screw. The steam jacket, micrometer screw and adjusting screw are mounted on a metal base.

Rods : Copper, brass, iron. Each 50 x 0.5cm dia.
Dimensions : 63 x 11 x 8.5mm (I x w x h) overall
Micrometer : Least count 0.01mm
