Test Method:
A grease sample is packed in a ball bearing and subjected to a steady water stream under controlled test conditions. The percentage of grease washed out in a one hour period is determined by weight.

Details of apparatus:
Consists of following main parts and accessories

1) Suitable Water Tank:

• Suitable tank  to hold about 750ml of water with suitable heating arrangement 
• Inner chamber manufactured from Stainless Steel S.S. - 304 Material
• Exterior body is fabricated from Mild Steel Material
• Glass-wool insulation between inner chamber and exterior body
• Fitted with rated capacity heaters to bring water temperature to test condition @38 °C and 79 °C 
• Also, fitted with PT-100 Bath temperature sensor
• Bath temperature is controlled by microprocessor based AUTO-TUNE PID Digital Temp Controller Cum Indicator
• Bath control panel is also equipped with Digital Timer and Digital RPM Indicator for indicating motor revolution of 600 ± 30 RPM
• The bearing rotational speed is 600 +30 rpm. 
• Internal drainage connection of the bath
• Low voltage circulation water pump, which supplies water to JET TIP to spray the water @ 5 ml/sec (300 ml/min ± 10%) via 1mm capillary
• Bypass tube and recovery system with external drain tap
• The water containing washed out grease is collected in the tank, filtered and recycled during the test. 
• Manual flow regulator valve
• Provided with necessary tools and fixtures for assembling of bearing housing. 

2) Ball Bearing:
Supplied complete with  ASTM Test bearing size 6204

3) Bearing housing and shield:
With dimension as per ASTM D1264

4) Thermometer:
ASTM 15C 
Range : -2 °C to +8 °C

5) Flow meter:
To supply water at 5 ml/sec (300 ml/min) flow rate to Jet Tip.
