Vibration and Dynamics Experimental Setup

Description:

This versatile and comprehensive setup is designed for studying vibrations and dynamic behavior in various mechanical systems. It includes facilities for RPM measurement, damping adjustment, and time period analysis, making it an ideal tool for theoretical verification and practical understanding of vibration principles.

Experiments:

The unit allows for the performance of the following experiments:

  1. Verification of the relation for a simple pendulum

  2. Verification of the relation for a compound pendulum and determination of the radius of gyration

  3. Study of radius of gyration using bi-filar suspension

  4. Undamped free vibrations of a spring-mass system

  5. Longitudinal vibrations of a helical coiled spring

  6. Undamped torsional vibrations of a single rotor system

  7. Undamped torsional vibrations of a double rotor system

  8. Verification of Dunkerley’s Rule

Utilities Required:

  • Floor Space: Approx. 2.5 m x 2.5 m

  • Power Supply: 230V AC, 5 Amp with proper earthing
