Fault Current Analysis System (Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Faults)
Overview:
The DC Network Analyzer is designed to analyze fault currents in a power system, including both symmetrical and asymmetrical faults. This unit allows fault analysis for various fault types such as L-G (Line-to-Ground), L-L (Line-to-Line), L-L-G (Line-to-Line-to-Ground), L-L-L (Line-to-Line-to-Line), and L-L-L-G (Line-to-Line-to-Line-to-Ground).
The system is equipped with variable power supply sources, variable resistance, milliammeter, and ohmmeter. It is divided into several sections for a comprehensive fault analysis.
System Configuration:
Power System Sections:
Two sections of alternators
Two sections of sending-end transformers with busbars
Four sections of transmission lines
Four sections of receiving-end transformers with busbars
Four load sections
Each section allows for detailed analysis of the power system and fault currents.
Symmetrical Fault Analysis:
The fault impedance diagram can be prepared on a per-phase basis for symmetrical faults. Fault currents are calculated and analyzed using the DC Network Analyzer.
Asymmetrical Fault Analysis:
For unsymmetrical faults, sequence reactance diagrams (positive, negative, and zero) are created. These reactance diagrams are connected in series or parallel, depending on the fault type, to analyze fault currents.
Fault Current Simulation:
The DC Network Analyzer simulates the fault current magnitude but cannot determine the exact phase. Assumptions are made that fault resistance is much smaller than reactance (Rf <<< XF), meaning the fault current is purely reactive and lags the phase voltage by 90°.
AC Network Analyzer Requirement:
For analyzing fault currents with both phase and magnitude, an AC network analyzer is required.
Features:
The DC Network Analyzer is simple to operate, easy to understand, and equipped with full protection features.
The power supply units within the analyzer are versatile and can be used independently for other applications as well.
Documentation:
A separate manual for the power supply is included.
Installation & Demonstration:
Installation and demonstration of the setup will be performed within one month of the delivery date.
